Join us this September for Philadelphia Museum of Arts Final Friday event, “Word Up!” Inspired by the connection between language and art. One night showcasing amazing talent and creatives including Tell Me A Story, Yolanda Wisher, Philly Typewriter, and myself.
I will be heading the hands on activity entitled Voice Your Story on the second story of the Great Hall.
Description: Blur was created from a need to be heard, a need to share and connect. I drew a mouth, wide open and loud, filling it with writings about my life. Putting them around our great city as a way to find my voice again. Hoping to inspire you to find your voice too, Voice Your Story is a hands on activity that will allow you to have a space to connect art with language. Put pen to paper, and marker to image to share how you feel, and view the world. Feel the sense of sharing your work in a public place by pinning it up for others to read, or keep it close and take it home with you. Voice Your Story will give you the opportunity to connect with yourself in a way we often don’t allow ourselves to, and therefore derive a connection with others.
