WOW. Just wow. Sara Kay, you do it to me every time. This is one of my favorite poetry books and I was so excited to share it with you all! I've read it 8 times in the 2 years I've had it, I'm also on my second copy. The first I gave away because you just have to share this book. Here, Sarah Kay writes on a variety of topics, ranging from romance, to family, growing up, the future, to personal insecurities. She her prose is story telling, like a bedtime story. Personally I was able to connect on a deeper level to most of her poems. While reading it was as if she was speaking for me. Saying the things I didn't know I needed to feel yet, or still, or at all. That being said, there were other poems I didn't connect to, but found myself appreciating getting to know her in that way, and to see things from another point of view. All in all, it tugged on my heart, and lifted some of the heaviness in me - personally going to take a deep breath and appreciate the power of literature. Finding peace in words is a beautiful thing. - Okay, so yes I'm a fan. But are you? And if you haven't already typed, 'Sarah Kay,' in Youtube and watched her perform her poetry - you've got some homework to do.
